Another week of finding...

My family and friends,

It was another week of finding. We hit 30 hours again! Woo Hoo! We always find potentials but they aren't very solid. They give us their numbers and addresses but they always say they are busy or never answer the door. It is quite frustrating. We have been finding close to our house which hasn't had much success. So, Sister Georgson and I have decided that we are going to reach farther out of our area. This week we will try it out and tell you all how it goes! :)

So Tuesday, Sister Georgson and I had to say goodbye to Sister Holland. It was very sad. When I first heard I was going to be in a trio I was quite nervous, but it turned out to be a lot of fun! We always had something to talk about and someone was always laughing. It is strange seeing an empty bed and desk. When she left it was quite quiet. Sister Georgson got along really well with Sister Holland. She seems a bit more quiet now but her and I still get a long wonderfully! :)

Charlie is still doing wonderful! :) She is so excited for her baptism. We taught her the Word of Wisdom and the Law of Chastity. She took both very well. She finds it hard to give up coffee but her motivation is getting to her baptismal date. Her step mother offered her Alcohol and she turned it down. She is very strong! She also came to church on Sunday and loved it again! She told us that she repented and felt AMAZING after! Charlie has been praying with us and Bella (her almost 4 year old daughter) has also started to pray. Charlie is really doing so amazing! I love seeing her grow and gaining a testimony of the Gospel.

This transfer I have decided to memorize some scriptures from the Book of Mormon. One including Alma 5:45-46. I love this scripture because of the spirit it brings. Alma speaks with such power and authority. The way he knows is through the power of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is key to conversion. In missionary work without the Holy Ghost we would have no direction. I know that the message of the Restoration is true because every time I recite

the first vision I feel the spirit SO strongly. Jesus Christ's Gospel has been restored to the earth by Joseph Smith and I testify this is true! I know we have a living day prophet here on the earth. What a great message it is that I have a privilege of sharing!!! Have a great week everyone! Love you all!!!

Hiya Family & Friends

I dont have much time to write this week. I am heading to Hull today with Sister Georgson and Sister Holland to drop Sister Holland off because she is heading home. So this email will be very short. So the news from transfer calls yesterday.....

Sister Georgson and I will stay companions in Grimsby. YAYYYYYY!!!!!! Both of us will get to go to Charlie's baptism.

 So speaking of Charlie. Charlie is doing great! She is really excited for her baptism. We are having to push it back to the 30th of May because we still need to teach her all the lessons. Sunday she came to church and again loved it. A member of the ward took her to church on Sunday. The member offered to take her every week! Charlie's kids are continuing to make friends and enjoying Primary. We taught Charlie the Word of Wisdom and Law of Chasity yesterday. She had a few questions but said she will keep them both. She is soooo prepared! I am excited for the 30th of May! :)

Miracle!

My dear family and friends,

All I can say is that hard work pays off. Over 50 hours of finding these past couple weeks and we found Charlie. Last Sunday, (26 April) we found a woman named Charlie. All we did to stop her was say hi and she stopped instantly. (Which is a miracle for England) We asked her if she believed in God and she said, "Yes I do." She hasn't really gone to church before but she was willing to hear our message. While talking to her she actually seemed emotional. From the very first time I met her I knew God had prepared her for Sister Georgson, Sister Holland, and I.

Tuesday, we had several appointments that were set up but all fell through. I was disappointed till we met with Charlie. The spirit was very strong while we taught her the restoration. After we told her about the Book of Mormon she said, "Why didn't I know about this earlier?" We invited her to be baptized on the 23 of May and she accepted. She didnt have any questions.

Throughout the week we called her to see how she was doing. Her birthday was on Friday and we even said Happy Birthday to her. She accpeted to come to church with us on Sunday. We had a plan to travel with her to the church. 

Sunday morning it was pouring outside. I was soooo worried that Charlie wasn't going to come. I kept praying and hoping she would. We got to her door and I see Charlie and her two kids, one in the push car and the other standing there. We walked all the way to the church building. From her house to the bus stop (20 mins), toke a bus ride by the chapel (15-20 mins), and walked to the church (10 mins). The ward was VERY welcoming of Charlie and her kids. One of the moms from the ward introduced her children to Charlie's kids. The kids sat pretty quiet through the sacrament. She even stayed throughout Sunday school and Relief Society. Afterward, she said she really enjoyed it and that she will come next week.

We saw her yesterday. We asked her if she had any questions about church and she had a few for us. She even asked us questions about the Book of Mormon! She really is soooo prepared! I have a strong testimony of how the Lord truly prepares people for the missionaries to teach. Charlie loved church because of the messages shared and testimonies born

but also because everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I invited all of you guys to reach out to those in your wards and also anyone you may not recognize at church. I love you all very much! Have an amazing week!!

Week 2? Week 3? in Grimsby....

To my family and friends,

I feel like I just emailed. The days are going by so fast here in Grimsby. I feel like I have been here for a couple months. This week was kinda of like last week. Sister Goergson, Sister Holland, and I did a lot of finding. 25 hours this week. This week though we found quite a lot of potentials. We have  a lot of appointments this week. Tuesday (28th of April) we have four appointments with people we found this week and Wednesday (29 of April) we have two. I am finally seeing the fruits of our labors here in Grimsby.

One woman in particular that Sister Holland and I found (Sister Georgson went with the Relief Society President to visit a sister. We go on a lot of exchanges with members in the ward to get more things done. It is nice to be in a trio for that reason.) Anyway, Sister Holland and I found this woman named Charlie. All Sister Holland did was say hi and she stopped to talk to us. Here in England that doesn't happen... She seemed so prepared to hear our message. She said that her grandpa just had a stroke. She seemed very emotional about it. We set a time to meet with her on Tuesday and afterward she said, " Thank you so much. I very appreciate it!" Charlie is prepared. Those moments make a mission worth it. I love finding people who are so ready, who really need the happiness the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings. It is just so great! I am so excited to see the results of this week. 

This past week I have been focusing my study on the heart. The heart is so important to missionary work. As a missionary I have been really trying to use ALL my heart in the work. I love the scripture Mosiah 7:33, "...turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind..." A full time

missionary isn't just "doing the time" it is putting your WHOLE heart into the work. This week that is my focus. I urge you guys to do the same! :) Hope you all have a BRILLANT week! Love you all!

To my wonderful family and friends,

I can not believe it as only been a week in Grismby. I feel like I have been here a lot longer then that. This week has been ok. Most of the week has been made up of finding. Sister Georgson, Sister Holland, and I did 30 hours of finding this week!!! 30 hours!!! We found several people who are interested. We got their numbers, address, and a return appointment. They aren't very solid potentials BUT I am excited to try to see them this upcoming week.

So this Monday Laura text us and told us she didn't want to get baptized or learn anymore. Sister Holland, Sister Georgson and I were devastated! Like girls are, they need pick me ups, so we went and got a milkshake. (It was good!) The following morning we saw Laura walking down the road. We stopped her and asked why she didn't want us to come by anymore. We resolved her concern and set up another time we could come by. She ended up not answering the door but I know some day her heart will soften to the message of the restored gospel!

This week Sister Holland, Sister Georgson and I have tried a new finding idea. We thought since there are three of us we should split up, so one of us goes to the other side of the road to talk to people. It is a good idea because we talk to more people at the same time. Every time I went to the other side of the road I had good conversations with people and got their number and address. I met a couple, Damen and Hannah, who seem very interested in learning more about how they can find out if there is a God. I also talked to a man named Michael who was interested in learning more about God's plan for us, the Plan of Salvation. I find myself loving to talking to people on the streets! Missions do work... :)

This weekend we went on an exchange with Sister Dlamini and Sister Howard. I love exchanges because I learn so much from each person I go with. New finding technics and approaches. I do enjoy being a Sister Training Leaders companion! :)

Dear family and friends,

When finding out that I was going to leave Keighley and move to a place called Grimsby I was a bit nervous. I was excited to get to know a new area and have a fresh start BUT I found out two things that made me even more nervous.

#1 I was going to be in a trio. I was in a trio in the MTC and it was a bit hard to teach. I couldn't imagine how knocking and street contacting would be like with three people.

#2 I was going to be opening a new area where NO sister missionaries had been before.

Both have been hard to get used to but... I LOVE IT! Within these past few days I have learned so much. I have learned a lot from my companions Sister Holland and Sister Georgson. I have learned more finding technics and have been more open. When we got to our area we had nothing. No pamphlets, Book of Mormons, Mormon.org cards, or anyone to teach (empty area book). After we dropped off our stuff we went finding. We needed to eat dinner so we asked people where a good place to eat was. We stopped a woman named Laura. Laura explained how she didn't really believe in God but was open to the idea to find out. She said though that her daughter who was 10 years old believed in God. We got an appointment with Laura the next day to see her and her daughter.

On Thursday we meet Laura and her daughter, Brianna, and taught them both about Heavenly Father and how we can find out if he is there. The spirit was really strong. Laura and Brianna are both scheduled for baptism on the 9th of May. They said they were going to come to church. Unfortunately they weren't at church, but we hopefully will be seeing them tonight! :)

Grimsby 2nd ward is wonderful! They were so excited to finally have sisters in their ward. The bishop had us for tea the following night. We got into Grismby and several members called to welcome us to the ward. The ward is very small and made up of older members BUT Sister Georgson, Sister Holland and I will change that! :)

About my companions, Sister Georgson is from Alberta Canada. She has been out for 6 months. Her and I were in the same MTC group. She is 19 and has only been a member for 2 years. She is great! Sister Holland is from England. Her accent is very proper. She is 25 and will be leaving at the end of this transfer. She is the sister training leader for our area. I know I will learn a lot from her.

I am excited to be here in Grimsby by the coast! :) The town it's self isn't that impressive. It is very flat here which makes me miss the mountains but I guess the ocean will do... ;) Love you all very much! Hope you guys have a brilliant week!!

Dear Family and Friends,

The time has come.... another transfer has come. It is weird to think about, but I have been here in England for 6 months now. It really doesn't feel like it at all. Time has flown by and it is quite frightening! Because I feel like the time has gone by so fast I have decided that I will be staying 2 year mission like Elders do. What do you like about that Mom and Dad?

Because it is approaching a new transfer it means that yesterday we had our transfer calls. So I, without any more delay I found out that I..... will..... be..... leaving...... Keighely! I am going to the coast in the South part of the mission. In a place called Grimsby. (Don't hold me to the spelling) I will be serving with Sister Holland and Sister Gorgson. We are opening a new area for sisters so most of our time will be finding. Sister Holland is a Sister Training Leader so I will still be going on exchanges. 

So this week Sister Arrive and I saw Aladar and David. Aladar is going to see the Slovak Elders this weekend to learn more about the church in his native language. We taught David last night and he will eventually get to baptism but it feels like it is going to be a slow process. No Sisters are coming back to Keighley so the Elders are going to take over and teach David and Aladar. Hopefully both will be baptized in the near

P.S. Conference was AMAZING!!! I love watching conference as a missionary. It really is just so great! The prophet and his apostles are so inspired! Have a good week everyone! :)
